In solemn solidarity the Ghana Immigration Service Academy and Training School (ISATS) joined hands with the Muslim recruits and officer cadets to celebrate the Eid-ul Fitr as one of its kind in the history of the Academy. The occasion was held on the famous Academy square in spectacular embellishment of colorful Islamic regalia as Muslims took their places on their prayer mats to revere the one True Allah. The self-righteous seating of the school authorities in their kaftans and officer cadets in suit and tie crowned the festive event.

ASI Rolland Abdul Azziz, the Master of Ceremonies (M.C) and the P.R.O. of ISATS gave a brief introduction to the event as it commenced. According to him, this year’s occasion was the first of its kind in the history of ISATS and Ghana Immigration Service. The officiating Imam, Deputy Imam Abdul Nasir in the company of Imam Farouk O. A. Sallam was called upon to offer supplications and recitations from the Heavenly Quran. In his revere, he empowered Muslims to continuously ask Allah for Pardoning and keep themselves clean even after the month of Ramadan.

Chief Superintendent Rev. Isaac Nukporfe the head of chaplaincy, on behalf of the Commandant (ACI Alex Adu) and the administration of ISATS expressed excitement seeing the occasion and wished all Muslims a happy Eid-ul Fitr celebration after a long period of fasting. Embracing the genuine fact that the Ghana Immigration Service encapsulates both Christian and Muslims, he expressed adoration for the sense of solidarity that Muslims of Recruit Intake 26 and Cadet Intake 14 have. He condemned the well-known stereotyping of Muslims and emphasized the loathsome behavior of condemning an individual’s activities and inaction because it is, rather than lumping them up with their religion. Utilizing the opportunity to lecture peace, he pointed out the current National Chief Imam, Sheik Osman Nuhu Sharubutu as a sparkling reflection of God’s favoring on earth and a pillar to foster harmony and comprehensiveness whiles shunning selectiveness in all sphere of society.

The Deputy Chief Imam of Ghana Immigration Service, Imam Farouk O. A Sallam delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to the Commandant (ACI Alex Adu), Course Commander (Supt. Nicholas Alhassani), Chief Instructor Academy and Training School (Dsi David Nii Noi Namoale Nartey), and other instructors who contributed their quota in making the event a success. The religious parade ended with a closing supplication from Saeed Faik Saake the Imam of ISATS.
