The Chief Executive Officer of ASEPA Ghana, Mr Mensah Thompson on Tuesday, 31st May, 2022 alleged that the letter by the IGP Akufo Dampare to the British High Commissioner was not original written by the Ghana Police Service but by some NPP foot soldiers.
The British High Commissioner made comments about the arrest of FixTheCountry Conveyor. In response the IGP in a four page document told her to know his diplomatic limit and mind her business.
According to Mr Mensah, the letter is was written at the party headquarters and as an IGP he only signed a partisan letter. He couldn’t’ that IGP Dampare for this letter has shown that he only got the position because he’ s a member of NPP and he’ s only there to do the bidding of the New Patriotic Party.
” So Dampare too can allow these Jubilee House small boys to write statement for him to sign. This is the end of Dampare, I have lost all respect for him atleast let Kwesi Ofori sign this” .
Mr Mensah continued that the Ghana Police Service is a state institution and not a party property. If for nothing at all, the IGP shouldn’ t have allow his office to be manipulated by politics. ASEPA therefore calls on the IGP to withdraw that misguided statement and apologize not only to the British high commissioner but also to the British government the British high commission and all its staff
for this reckless display of contempt towards their diplomat”
